Bison did an exceptional job and all in one day. We had 50 year old cedar shakes to be replaced with regular shingles and we were so happy with the options to choose from and the process of scheduling and getting it done within budget. I will be suggesting them to anyone that asks me if I know a good roofing company.
We hired Bison Exteriors for roof and window wrapping repair due to this past summer's hail storm damage. Tom Menke, the owner, is one of the friendliest and most straightforward business persons we've dealt with since buying our home in 1998. He was patient with our many questions (this was our first home repair due to hail damage) and helped us navigate the process of insurance paperwork, etc. He responded very quickly to either emails, texts, or phone calls. The job was done in two parts: the roof repair was done on the first visit, and the second part was re-wrapping the exterior window trim. The second part had to wait until we had new windows installed. In each case, the crew from Bison Exteriors were professional and hard working. Their work was excellent, especially the window wrapping. Given that both the roof and window wrapping were done in the middle of winter, and done so well, is a testament to their professionalism and commitment to providing quality work. I would recommend Bison Exteriors for roof or other exterior house repair work. Tom and his crew did a great job for us and we are 100% satisfied with the results.
Tom and his crew did a fantastic job on our roof and siding. He worked closely with the insurance company and advocated on our behalf. The entire team was very professional, friendly and responsive every step of the way.
Tom is a very knowledgeable person in the window, siding and roofing industry. He really cares about the quality of the work he does. I have worked with Tom on more than one occasion and can't say enough good about the way he handles his projects. Tom and his company Bison Exteriors are a top choice for exterior projects. WONDERFUL experience with them. I wish I had known about them sooner to do my other projects! Very responsive, communicative, and quick to provide services (while also actively keeping you updated on any changes/rescheduling needs). Had a minor water leak from the roof and the process only took a couple weeks from initial paperwork, talking with insurance, and completing the project. Would definitely recommend them & use them in the future!
Bison did a great job repairing some deteriorated shakes on the exterior of our home. Unfortunately, the damage was pretty deep but they took care of all of it. Making it match perfectly to the rest of the siding. Highly recommend, Tom is fantastic to work with.

We had three quotes for our roofing project and Tom was easily the most knowledgeable and professional. The other companies were just trying to upsell everything and didn’t know much about what they were trying to sell me. Tom was out within 2 weeks of the initial visit and completed the roof in one day. He even addressed some underlying issues with the roof and contacted my insurance to get my payout adjusted. Super happy with Tom and the Bison crew. Our roof was damaged by a hailstorm in May. Tom was knowledgable about the claim process, extremely responsive in his communication, and very flexible in coordinating his install crew with our schedule. He was also very quick to adjust the installation to accommodate a required code upgrade, which added a lot of value to the process.
The team at Bison were professional, managed expectations, with great communication. Bison's team and leadership makes working with a contractor fun, and the quality of workmanship is 2nd to none.
I've worked with Bison on multiple projects and will do it again soon, as there are always projects to do.
Bison Exteriors replaced the roof on our 100-year old home in St. Paul and I'd recommend them to anyone needing exterior work on their house. They were professional, knowledgeable, got the work done in a timely manner...and best of all it was quality work at a good value! The job was complete in a day and a half, and the crew left the site thoroughly clean and free of debris. The new roof looks great and we have piece of mind knowing it was a job well done! We'll definitely work with Bison again on our next project.
Bison Exteriors have completed 2 projects on our 110 yr old house. The first was a complicated removal and replacement of all the house's windows. The new windows are energy efficient and very attractive - a vast improvement. The crew's work was quick, fully matched our pre-construction agreement and met all of our expectations. Their second project here was completed later and involved removal of all timber shakes on the exterior of the house's second floor. Again, the new product was installed carefully with an eye to appearance and quality. In both projects, Bison provided us with the information, guidance and work that we needed to maintain the beauty and durability of our home.
Tom was great. He worked tirelessly to advocate for us when insurance was giving us the run around. They also managed to get the job done in one day. Grateful for the professional expertise and quality work.
